Vertitas dominates tournament

SPARTA — The Metro Christian Athletic Association (MCAA) held its first-ever volleyball tournament this past Saturday in Nutley after adding the sport this spring in the league.

Teams from NJ and NY competed and Veritas Christian Academy from Sparta dominated the tournament.

The boys team took first place for the season and first place in the MCAA tournament and the girls team took third place in the tournament. Both teams also won the Christian Character award for their character on the court. Veritas' Isaac Delbury was named the league MVP. Isaac Delbury, Anders Nordstrom, Racheal Kuperus and Maxine Weber all were named to the all tournament teams.
