AP-Eligible homeowners should receive applications for their FAIR property tax rebates within the next two weeks, according to state officials. The Division of Taxation will mail 1.95 million application packets for the program. The recently approved state budget for fiscal 2006 provides $1.1 billion in direct property tax relief for FAIR rebates. New Jersey residents qualify if they owned and paid property taxes on a home that was their principal residence on Oct. 1, 2004, provided their gross 2004 income was $200,000 or less. The deadline for filing the applications is Aug. 15.
