Students, teacher prepare for a trip to a land time forgot

Sparta - Lauren Watry assists teacher Toni Adamiak with a bulletin board at Sparta High School. Watry is one of five students who will travel with Adamiak to the Galapagos Islands this summer. Adamiak, a biology teacher at the school, organized the opportunity for students, parents and teachers to explore and study the islands of the Galapagos. She has traveled for study, research and/or to teach in the Amazon of Peru, the Savanna of Bolivia, Japan, India and China. Watry and her fellow students will explore the islands of the Galapagos where, separated by ocean - and time - exotic species roam dramatic, volcanic outposts. They will be aboard the expedition yacht with a naturalist guide and be able to see for themselves the basis for Charles Darwin’s theories of evolution. There are currently three spots available on the trip. For more information contact antonia.adamiak@sparta.org.
