Summer 2011 concerts planned

Sparta — The Sparta Cultural Affairs Committee (SCAC), with 11 members under the leadership of musician and educator Karl Latham, is in the process of organizing a series of summer concerts at Dykstra Park. SCAC will present the teen Battle of the Bands on June 10 at 7 p.m. This summer, thanks to on-going help from sponsors and supporters, SCAC is hoping to present Sparta with marquee performers including jazz bassist Mark Egan, guitarist Jeff Ciampa, the Dalton Gang, and Sparta favorites, Billy Hector, SubCommittee and Patrick Fitzsimmons.
