Sussex acute care hospital recognized for commitment to quality patient care

SUSSEX —Staff from Saint Clare’s Hospital/Sussex recently celebrated the awarding of a patient satisfaction honor from The Jackson Organization for its commitment to excellence in patient care. Saint Clare’s Hospital/Sussex was recognized as the top hospital in the nation for Overall Inpatient Satisfaction in the medium hospital category (100-249 licensed beds). Representatives from the system returned recently from Williamsburg, Va., where they received their honors during The Jackson Group’s annual awards ceremony. “We are honored to have been nationally recognized by The Jackson Organization for our overall patient satisfaction score,” noted Stephen Bocskocsky, Vice-President and Chief Administrative Officer for Saint Clare’s/Sussex. “We are committed to enhancing each patient experience through high quality care and great customer/patient service. This honor serves as a testament to the care our patients receive and to the commitment of our sponsors, the Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother, and the physicians, staff, and volunteers at Saint Clare’s.” To qualify for the recent Jackson Organization award, a hospital must have been a patient satisfaction-tracking client of the Jackson Organization for all four quarters of 2005. Saint Clare’s was chosen for exceeding industry standards. The Jackson award for Saint Clare’s Hospital/Sussex is one of several recent honors for this mid-size, rural community hospital. In 2005, Jackson honored the facility for its Overall Outpatient Satisfaction, and the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services ranked the Sussex hospital second in the state for its treatment of pneumonia, as part of its most recent Hospital Performance Report.
