Sussex County Community College offers professional construction courses
Newton Sussex County Community College Corporate and Community Education is offering two new construction courses in conjunction with their current offering of Uniform Construction Code programs: Construction Blueprint Reading and Construction Specifications and Contracts. These courses are ideal for new employees or for brushing up skills. They are taught by a team of architects from the firm of Houghton, Quarty and Warr Architects LLC who will bring their first-hand knowledge of the commercial design field into the classroom. The Uniform Construction Code courses are taught by seasoned professionals in their respective trades. Keith Utter, Dave Condon, and Tom Pinand all are employed as construction officials. Their courses are open to anyone with an interest in construction and are mandatory for those desiring licensure. Construction Blueprint Reading is scheduled for Tuesday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. beginning Sept. 12 through Oct. 31. Construction Specification and Contracts is scheduled for Thursday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. beginning Sept. 14 through Nov. 2. In addition, Corporate and Community Education offers a variety of computer related courses for improved productivity and efficiency.
