Oct. 27 John M. Shaker, age 20, of Hopatcong pled guilty to the third degree crime of possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Sentencing is presently anticipated for December 19. He admitted that on January 24 he possessed three bags of heroin in the bedroom of his home. Oct. 29 Michael A. Maloney, age 32, of Hamburg and Joseph E. Gallow, age 32, of Wantage were indicted with burglary and theft, both third degree crimes. The Grand Jury alleges that on July 25 in Sussex Borough, the defendants broke into a residence and took electronic equipment worth over $5,000 A Grand Jury indictment is a charge only. Jessica T. Reddin, age 19, of Newark was indicted with criminal mischief, a third degree crime. The Grand Jury alleges that on May 23 the defendant, while attending a YMCA camp in Sandyston Township, damaged a car belonging to an employee of the camp by scraping the paint off with a key. The incident was witnessed by several people at the camp and the defendant admitted her actions to police upon being questioned. Christopher R. Elvena, age 38, of Kinnelon was indicted with three counts of second degree aggravated assault and three counts of third degree aggravated assault. The Grand Jury alleges that on June 28 in Vernon, the defendant grabbed the victim by the throat and threw him backwards off an approximate 15 foot cliff. The victim sustained serious injuries and the incident was witnessed by several other people at the scene. Christopher A. Schwarz, age 29 of Hopatcong and Kenneth McCollum, Jr., age 29 of Wantage were indicted with ten counts of burglary, all third degree crimes. The Grand Jury alleges that between May 29 and June 4 the defendants broke into several vehicles in Byram and Hopatcong, taking various items from each vehicle. Oct. 31 Joshua Ormond, age 22, of Newton was sentenced to probation for a period of two years. As a condition of Ormond’s probation he is to perform 75 hours of community service. He was also ordered to pay $205 in monetary penalties and to undergo a domestic violence evaluation and a substance abuse evaluation. He pled guilty on September 22 to criminal mischief, a third degree crime. He admitted that he damaged personal property belonging to an adult female during the course of a domestic violence dispute. The property was valued in excess of $2,000. Jeffrey Gardner, age 21, of Hopatcong was sentenced to probation for a period of three years. As a condition of his probation Gardner served 179 days in the Sussex County Jail. Gardner was also ordered to undergo a psychosexual evaluation within 60 days of his sentencing date. As a condition of his probation he is also to have no access to the internet, he is to pay $330 in monetary penalties and he is to pay restitution in the amount of $1,916.38. He pled guilty on September 22 to the third degree charge of knowingly showing obscene material to a person under the age of 18 and the fourth degree charge of criminal mischief. Gardner admitted to the court that on or about March 8, he had used his cell phone to send an image of his genitals to a person he knew to be 15 years of age for the purpose of sexually arousing or sexually gratifying himself. He also admitted that on or about November 13, 2006, he damaged personal property belonging to an adult female during the course of a domestic violence incident. Daniel Mackerley, age 19, of Sussex was sentenced to probation for a period of three years. As a condition of Mackerley’s probation he served 71 days in the Sussex County Jail. He was also ordered to pay $205 in monetary penalties and to undergo a domestic violence evaluation and a substance abuse evaluation. He pled guilty on September 22 to terroristic threats, a third degree crime. He admitted that on July 14 he had been involved in a verbal dispute with an adult female when he threatened to burn down the victim’s house. Vincent L. Springston, age 39, of Highland Lakes was sentenced to 30 days in jail with credit for four days and four years probation. He must submit a DNA sample, submit to random drug testing and obtain employment. He must also pay $280 in court costs and $6,775.69 in restitution to Motorcycle Madness. Springston pled guilty on September 22 to third degree burglary and two counts of third degree theft. He admitted to entering several storage containers owned by Motorcycle Madness of Hampton and taking several all terrain vehicles and one motorcycle, causing damage to them in the process. Robert J. Heredia, age 28, of Newton was sentenced to three years New Jersey State Prison and was given credit for 179 days served. He must pay total fines and penalties of $1,030 and submit a DNA sample at his expense. He pled guilty on September 22 to seven counts of burglary, all third degree crimes, and one count of criminal mischief, a fourth degree crime. Between April 25 and May 3 he broke into seven separate residences in Newton, all within a one block radius of his own residence. Nov. 3 Lorilee Kelly, age 30, of Montague pled guilty to theft, a third degree crime. Sentencing is presently anticipated for January 23, 2009. The defendant admitted to stealing money in an amount greater than $500 from her employer in Sandyston Township between September, 2005 and July, 2008. Edward A. Zubl, age 37, of Sussex pled guilty to unlawful taking of a means of conveyance, a fourth degree crime. Sentencing is presently anticipated for January 9, 2009. The defendant, after spending the night at another person’s home, admitted to taking a van belonging to the homeowner without his consent and driving it to his own residence. Dorothy M. Rude, age 45, of Newton pled guilty to third degree theft. Sentencing is presently anticipated for December 19. She admitted to taking money from cash receipts while employed as a cashier at Newton Trophy and Sport Center. Daniel E. Lee, age 32, of Effort, Pa. pled guilty to two counts of third degree theft. Sentencing is presently anticipated for January 16, 2009. He admitted to entering a residential locked garage belonging to Montague resident and taking a .22 Marlin rifle, two Stihl leaf blowers, gas cans and a case of beer. Nov. 5 John P. Denino, age 27, of Newton was sentenced to three years probation, was ordered to serve 330 days in the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility and was given credit for 73 days served. He was ordered to complete an in-patient treatment program for mental health and substance abuse, and pay restitution of $300. He must pay total fines and penalties of $555 and submit a DNA sample at his expense. He pled guilty on May 28 to aggravated assault on a police officer, a fourth degree crime. He pled guilty on September 15 to aggravated assault on a police officer, a third degree crime, and aggravated assault/throwing bodily fluid, a fourth degree crime. On October 14, 2007 he admitted to assaulting an officer of the Hardyston Township Police Department by trying to bite the officer who was attempting to arrest him during a domestic dispute investigation. On June 29 in Newton, while being placed under arrest for shoplifting, the defendant punched a police officer in the chin. On July 4 in Newton, police officers responded to a report of a dispute at an apartment on Spring Street. Defendant was involved in a verbal argument with another person and continued to antagonize him once officers separated them. While being placed under arrest for disorderly conduct he spit at one of the officers. Blair R. Milner, Jr., age 29, of Frankford pled guilty to four counts of receiving stolen property, crimes of the third degree. Sentencing is presently anticipated for January 16, 2009. In separate occasions, he admitted to being in possession of two Car-Mate trailers that were reported stolen from Hampton Body Works, a 2007 Renegade snowmobile trailer containing four snowmobiles that were reported stolen from Muller’s Auto Sales of Milford, Pennsylvania and a 2006 Haulmaster car-hauler trailer loaded with RV parts stolen from Escape RV, Inc. of Branchville.
