Nov. 18 Emily Henry, 27, originally from Michigan, was sentenced to four years state prison with 1,185 days credit. On Aug. 17, 2008 the defendant knowingly used pepper spray on a victim and left the scene of the injury knowing or reasonable believing the victim was unable to care for himself. Amanda Zita, 22, of Hamburg was sentenced to three years probation. She pled guilty on Sept. 12, 2011, to theft by unlawful taking and forgery, both third degree crime. Aaron Southworth, 26, of Franklin was sentenced to three years probation. He pled guilty on Sept. 12 to interference with custody, a third degree crime, and burglary, a third degree crime. Rachel A. Petriello, 26, of Newton, was sentenced to three years probation, inpatient substance abuse treatment, $1,330 in fines, $320 in restitution and a six-month loss of driver’s license. She pled guilty on Sept. 12 to third degree distribution of a controlled dangerous substance and fourth degree theft. She was convicted of selling seven bags of heroin to an individual cooperating with the Sussex County Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force in order to support her heroin addiction. She also admitted to stealing an air compressor and two gift cards. Catherine Babcock, 35, of Franklin was sentenced to three years state prison and $205 in fines. She pled guilty on Oct. 11 to the third degree crime of absconding from parole. She admitted that on May 29 she left her approved residence to avoid supervision and was arrested in Port Jervis, N.Y. three weeks later. Nov. 21 A juvenile pled guilty on Sept. 29 to third degree endangering the welfare of a child. He was adjudicated a juvenile delinquent by the court. The juvenile, 16, of Swartswood, was sentenced to three years probation, 60 days detention with credit for 43 days already served and must register for Megan’s Law. He must have no contact with the victim, attend school every day and follow all home and school rules, submit a DNA sample, undergo random drug testing, have no unsupervised contact with children under age 14, follow all recommendations of evaluation(s) and pay $45 in court fees. In the spring of 2011 the juvenile sexually assaulted a 12-year-old.
