June 21 Christopher Anderson, 43, of Cape May County was indicted with terroristic threats, a third degree crime, and two counts of contempt. A grand jury indictment is a charge only. The defendant is presumed innocent until guilt may be proved at a jury trial. June 27 Ryan C. McElwee, 30, of Sussex pled guilty to the third degree crime of escape. He admitted that on Feb. 1, 2010 he absconded from the Intensive Supervision Program and was not returned to their custody until 50 days later when arrested in Sussex Borough. T Eric C. Faulkner, 27, of Hopatcong pled guilty to second degree aggravated assault, third degree possession of a controlled dangerous, third degree theft from the person and fourth degree resisting arrest. He admitted that on Dec. 30, 2009 he broke the arm of Mark Vogt following a dispute which had been conducted via text message. He also admitted to possessing 60 bags of heroin in Sparta on Feb. 24, 2010. Finally, he admitted to stealing money from three individuals on Dec. 23, 2010 at the Holiday Inn in Andover Township and attempting to run from the police in Hopatcong when they tried to arrest him for that offense. June 28 A grand jury indictment charges Victor Albert, 28, of Andover, with certain persons not to have weapons, a second degree crime; certain persons not to have weapons, a third-degree crime; two counts of unlawful possession of weapon, third-degree crimes, and contempt, a fourth-degree crime. A grand jury indictment charges Matthew Handville, 48, of Newton with aggravated assault, a third-degree crime. A grand jury indictment charges James Viani, 19, of Highland Lakes with exercising control over police weapon, a second-degree crime; resisting arrest, a third-degree crime, and two counts of aggravated assault, fourth-degree crimes. A grand jury handed indictment charges Edward Dorst, 32, of Franklin with four counts of violation of special sentence of community supervision for life, fourth-degree crimes. He was adjudicated a juvenile delinquent by the court. The juvenile, age 17, of Newton, was sentenced to 12 months probation with seven days detention, suspended. He must also complete the Alternative to Detention Program successfully, attend school every day and follow all home and school rules, submit a DNA sample, undergo random drug testing, have no contact with the victim, pay $45 in court fines and $520 restitution to the victim. In March, while attending Kittatinny High School, the juvenile placed another student in a choke hold causing the victim to lose consciousness, fall and strike his head the ground. A juvenile pled guilty on June 30 to second degree possession of a firearm for unlawful purpose. He was adjudicated a juvenile delinquent by the court. The juvenile, 14, of Fredon, was sentenced to 12 months probation on condition that he submit a DNA sample, undergo random drug testing, attend school every day and follow all home and school rules, tour the Morris County Juvenile Detention Center, forfeit all BB guns, have no unsupervised contact with codefendant, pay $45 in fines and $1136.65 restitution to victims, joint and several with co-defendant. In May the juvenile and another juvenile were shooting BB guns at cars going by on Route 94 in Fredon causing damage to some of the vehicles. July 5 Valerie VanHorn, 28, of Hamburg pled guilty to two counts bad check, third and fourth degree crimes. Michael Bollen, 22, of Vernon pled guilty to unlawful taking of a means of conveyance, a crime of the fourth degree. Bollen admitted that he did not have his father’s permission when he drove his father’s SUV to Paterson. The incident was investigated by Patrolman Charles Reid of the Vernon Township Police Department. July 7 Kevin D. Lauritzen, 20, of Montgomery, N.Y., was sentenced to three years probation, was ordered to serve 270 days in the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility and was given credit for 171 served. His probation will be transferred to Orange County, N.Y. to run concurrent to a term he is presently serving there. The court also ordered the defendant to submit to random urine monitoring, continue with outpatient counseling, pay restitution in the amount of $308 and is barred from having any contact with Krips Gang members. He must pay total fines and penalties of $530 and submit a DNA sample at his expense. He pled guilty on May 16 to four counts of burglary, all crimes of the third degree. In pleading guilty, Lauritzen admitted that he and a co-defendant entered several vehicles in Vernon Township on Jan. 18 and removed property from them. Heather L. Conklin, 30, of Dingmans Ferry was sentenced to three years probation and was ordered to serve 180 days in the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility. The court also ordered the defendant to submit to a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations, perform 30 days of community service, submit to random urine monitoring and forfeit a stun gun she was in possession of when arrested. She must pay total fines and penalties of $2,155, submit a DNA sample at her expense and her driving privileges were suspended for 24 months. She pled guilty on June 27 to possession of heroin, a third degree crime, possession of a stun gun, a crime of the fourth degree and to the motor vehicle offense of driving while intoxicated. In pleading guilty, Conklin admitted that she was driving drunk on Route 15 in Sparta on Jan. 24 and, after being stopped for driving on the shoulder of the road, she consented to a search of her vehicle where police found a stun gun and heron. Gregory Deo, Jr., 29, of Lyndhurst was sentenced to three years probation and 149 days time served. His probation will be transferred to Bergen County to run concurrent to a term he is presently serving there. The court also ordered the defendant to submit to a mental health evaluation and follow all recommendations made, to forfeit a computer, printer and $246 seized at the time of his arrest and pay restitution in the amount of $100. He must pay total fines and penalties of $1,030 and submit a DNA sample at his expense. He pled guilty on May 16 to eight counts of forgery, all crimes of the third degree. In pleading guilty, Deo admitted that he used counterfeit money to make purchases at several businesses in Wantage, Franklin and Hamburg between Feb. 8 and Feb. 10. Erika M. Carr, 22, of Pennsauken was sentenced to three years probation and 72 days time served. The court also ordered the defendant to comply with the recommendations of a recent TASC evaluation, enter and successfully complete an inpatient drug program within 30 days, attend daily AA/NA meetings until she enters a program and submit to random urine monitoring. She must pay total fines and penalties of $1,205, submit a DNA sample at her expense and her driving privileges were suspended for six months. She pled guilty on May 16 to distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, a third degree crime. In pleading guilty, Carr admitted to giving a bag of heroin to a patient at the Sunrise House on June 3, 2010. July 8 Molica A. Ker, 21, of Braintree, Mass., was sentenced to three years state prison and $2,205 in fines. She pled guilty on May 23, 2011 to the second degree crime of accomplice liability to possess a controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute it. She admitted to helping two other individuals transport more than one half ounce of Ecstasy from Ohio to Massachusetts. The matter was investigated by Byram Police Officer Daniel DeWald. Frank A. Paradise, 23, of Vernon was sentenced to three years probation, 90 days county jail with credit for 37 days already served and the balance to be served on SLAP, substance abuse evaluation, defensive driver training, $205 in fines and a six-month loss of driver’s license. He pled guilty on May 16, 2011 to the third degree crime of eluding. He admitted to eluding Franklin Police Officer Seamus Geddis on July 12, 2009 while on a motorcycle during a high-speed chase that went from Route 23 through the Weiss and ShopRite parking lots. Anna C. Maloney, 42, of Hamburg was sentenced to three years probation, 100 hours of community service, $2,280 in fines and a six-month loss of driver’s license. She pled guilty on May 9, 2011 to two counts of third degree distribution of a controlled dangerous substance. She admitted to selling small amounts of heroin on Nov. 24 and Oct. 14, 2010 in the boroughs of Hardyston and Hamburg to a person cooperating with the Sussex County Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force. July 11 Michael T Maull, 22, of Sussex, pled guilty to three counts of burglary, three counts of theft and two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, all crimes of the third degree. In pleading guilty, Maull admitted that between April 23, 2011 and May 12, 2011, he illegally entered structures in Hampton Township and Sandyston Township and took property from them. On May 14, 2011 in Wantage Township, he was found to be in possession of heroin and Nucynta during a motor vehicle stop. Andrew Fackrell, 20, of Hamburg, pled guilty to possession of heroin, a crime of the third degree. In pleading guilty, Fackrell admitted that he possessed heroin on April 17, 2011 when police responded to his residence regarding a wellness check. Tyler K. Zappa, 19, of Lafayette pled guilty to the third-degree crime of distribution of one half ounce or more of marijuana. He admitted to selling a total of approximately four ounces of marijuana on three occasions in February and March in Newton and Sparta to an undercover detective assigned to the Sussex County Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force. Ryan M. McCann, 23, of Port Jervis pled guilty to the third- degree crime of possession of a controlled dangerous substance. He admitted to possessing 34 OxyContin and 19 Xanax on Aug. 11, 2009 in Vernon. The matter was investigated by Vernon Police Officer Shaun Fitzgerald. July 14 Michael T. Soraci, 41, of Lafayette, was sentenced to two years probation, was ordered to serve 120 days in the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility and was given credit for 58 days served. The Court also ordered him to submit to a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations made and pay restitution in the amount of $1,244.77. He must pay total fines and penalties of $1,155 and submit a DNA sample at his expense. His driving privileges were suspended for 24 months. He pled guilty on June 20, 2011 to two counts of fraudulent use of a credit card, both third degree crimes, and unlawful taking of a means of conveyance, a crime of the fourth degree. In pleading guilty, Soraci admitted that, on April 10, 2011, he took a vehicle in Franklin without the owner’s consent or permission and used credit cards he found in that vehicle in Newton and Andover Township. Jennifer L. Stalter, 28, of Branchville, was sentenced to three years probation. The Court also ordered her to submit to a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations made, attend 48 hours of IDRC classes, and her driving privileges were suspended for seven months. She must pay total fines and penalties of $1,819 and submit a DNA sample at her expense. She pled guilty on June 20, 2011 to possession of heroin, a third degree crime, and driving while intoxicated. In pleading guilty, Stalter admitted that she possessed heroin and was driving under the influence on March 7, 2011 after police responded to a call for a well being check and found her asleep in her vehicle in a parking lot in Wantage Township.
