Oct. 6 Brian Dietz, 28, of Branchville pled guilty to terroristic threats, a third degree crime. Steven A. Castimore, 50, of Sussex pled guilty to third degree possession of cocaine. He admitted to being in possession of crack cocaine while being placed under arrest on an outstanding warrant. Oct. 7 Kevin C. Lee, 19, of Newton, was sentenced to three years probation. He must also obtain employment, attend AA/NA meetings, submit his DNA and pay Courts costs and fines. He pled guilty on July 18, 2011, to third degree possession of heroin. When police responded to a report of a drug overdose, Lee admitted to being in possession of heroin. William L. Jennings, 36, of Stanhope, was sentenced to five years probation, was ordered to serve 270 days in the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility and was given credit for two days served. He must pay joint and several restitution in the amount of $15, 660, pay total fines and penalties of $255 and submit a DNA sample at his expense. He pled guilty on July 18, 2011 to burglary and theft, both crimes of the third degree. In pleading guilty, Jennings admitted that he and a co-defendant broke into a residence in Andover Township on April 7, 2011 and took copper piping. James E. Beck, 51, of Vernon was sentenced to two years probation, 180 days in the county jail, $2,380 in fines and a nine-month loss of driver’s license. He pled guilty on June 13, 2011 to two counts of the third degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance. He admitted to possessing more than 14 bags of cocaine on October 2009 in Sussex Borough. He also admitted to possessing 20 bags of cocaine on Nov. 6, 2009 in Franklin Borough. Peter J. Perkins, 21, of Hopatcong, was sentenced to five years probation and 15 days on the Sheriff’s Labor Assistance Program. He must also pay $9,148 in restitution. He pled guilty on June 27, 2011, to nine counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief. He admitted that he threw rocks at numerous vehicles, breaking the front windshields and causing over $9,000 in damage. Oct. 11 James Conklin, 21, of Sussex, pled guilty to violation of community supervision for life under Megan’s Law, a fourth-degree crime. Christopher Ennis, 31, of Branchville, pled guilty to the second-degree crime of employing a juvenile in a drug distribution scheme. He admitted that on April 23, 2011 in Sparta he possessed approximately 500 bags of heroin that he intended to deliver to another individual in Montague, and that he had his 5-year-old son in the car with him in order to allay the suspicions of the police. Catherine Babcock, 35, of Franklin pled guilty to the third-degree crime of absconding from parole. She admitted that on May 29, 2011 she left her approved residence to avoid supervision and was arrested in Port Jervis, N.Y., three weeks later. Alexander C. Kepfinger, 23, of Newton, pled guilty to third-degree burglary and fourth-degree theft. He admitted to entering a West End Avenue residence and removed an X-Box Game System. Oct. 12 Kevin A. Hemmerich, 23, of Andover, pled guilty to third-degree possession and fourth-degree obstruction. He admitted to being in possession of heroin when police responded to a domestic dispute at his home. Oct. 14 Jeremy Lownds, 20, of Vernon, was sentenced to three years probation, concurrent to 120 days in the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility with credit for 94 days. He must also undergo a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations, undergo random drug testing, submit a DNA sample, maintain gainful employment, attend NA three times a week and get a sponsor, pay $280 in fines and $2,744 in restitution to the victim. He pled guilty on July 26, 2011 to two counts of third-degree burglary. Between Dec. 15 and 17, 2010 Lownds entered two different homes in Vernon taking various items including electronic equipment, jewelry, cash and other items. He had a juvenile co-defendant during one of the burglaries.
