    May 5 Thomas C. Rae, 44, of Newton was indicted with burglary and theft, both crimes of the third degree. The grand jury alleges that on Dec. 11, 2010 in Newton, Rae and a co-defendant illegally entered an apartment in Newton and stole copper wiring, copper tubing and electrical equipment. A grand jury indictment is a charge only. The defendants are presumed innocent until guilt may be proved at a jury trial. Oasia I. Mosley, 29, of Boundbrook was indicted with theft by deception, a third degree crime. T The grand jury alleges that on May 2, 2010 in Hazlet, Mosley cashed a fraudulent and forged check drawn on another individual’s account without the owner’s knowledge or consent, and kept the money for herself. Melissa A. Lapinski, 31, of Landing was indicted with shoplifting, a fourth degree crime, and burglary and theft, both crimes of the third degree. The grand jury alleges that on May 13, 2010 in Hopatcong, Lapinski took items from a Rite-Aid and attempted to leave the store without paying for them. The grand jury also alleges that on July 31, 2010 in Sparta, Lapinski and a co-defendant illegally entered a residence and took jewelry and electronic equipment. Matthew James, age 25, of Colonia was indicted with resisting arrest, a crime of the fourth degree. The grand jury alleges that on Oct. 5, 2010 in Lafayette, James ran from two Bergen County Sheriff’s Officers who were attempting to serve him with an arrest warrant. A juvenile was found guilty by a bench trial on March 31. He was adjudicated a juvenile delinquent by the court. The juvenile, age 16, of Wantage, was sentenced to 30 days detention with 12 months probation (he must serve 10 days with 20 suspended). He must also successfully complete the Alternative to Detention Program, continue counseling, submit a DNA sample, undergo random drug testing and have to contact with the victim. In October of 2010 the juvenile assaulted the victim by hitting him on the head with a lacrosse stick, causing an injury to his head, while the victim was on the ground. May 6 Glenn L. White, 45, of Andover, was sentenced to 10 years in state prison with a 40-year term of parole ineligibility. He must submit his DNA and pay $6,976.55 restitution as well as court costs. He pled guilty on March 7 to seven counts of third degree burglary and one count of third degree bail jumping. He admitted that during the months of December, 2007 through January, 2009 he broke into several Newton businesses taking coins, cash and electronic equipment. William F. Greer, 34, of Hewitt, was sentenced to three years probation and 90 days in jail and pay $1,091.54 in restitution. He pled guilty on Feb. 7 to third degree arson. He admitted to setting fire to a 2009 Ford Mustang belonging to a Vernon resident. Heather M. Byron, 27, of Saylorsburg, Penn., was sentenced to three years probation, 71 days county jail, a substance abuse evaluation and treatment, $1,255 in fines and a six-month loss of driver’s license. She pled guilty on March 21 to the third degree crime of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance. She admitted to distributing a small amount of cocaine on March 5, 2009 while she was working at Ray’s Inn in Andover to an undercover detective working with the Division of Criminal Justice. Daniel W. Dehaven, Jr., 25, of Morris Plains was sentenced to three years state prison, 10 days community service, $1,968.97 in restitution and $280 in fines. He pled guilty on March 14 to three counts of third degree shoplifting. In pleading guilty, Dehaven admitted that he and a co-defendant took numerous items from Wal-Mart in Hampton Township on Feb. 1 without paying for them and on Feb. 8 Dehaven went by himself to the same Wal-Mart and took more items again without paying for them. On Feb. 17 both defendants went back to Wal-Mart but were apprehended before they could leave the store with the merchandise in their shopping carts. Dana J. Villano, 25, of Sussex was sentenced to two years probation, 270 days in the county jail, $1,205 in fines and a six-month loss of driver’s license. She pled guilty on Jan. 3 to the third degree crime of attempting to obtain a controlled dangerous substance by fraud. She admitted to altering prescription so that it was changed from one patch of Fentanyl to one box of Fentanyl patches. May 9 William M. Mackerley, 45, of Wantage pled guilty to violation of conditions of community supervision for life, a fourth degree crime. John Fama, 30, of Newton, pled guilty to obscenity to person under 18 and endangering the welfare of a minor, both third degree crimes. Fama admitted that on June 22, and July 18, 2010 he sent photographs of his genitalia to a minor and on June 27, 2010 had sexual contact with her. Tamari T. Valentine, 35, of Newton pled guilty to second degree crime distribution of heroin while within 500 feet of a public building and third degree distribution of heroin. He admitted to distributing heroin on Dec. 10 and 20, 2010 in the Town of Newton to an individual cooperating with the Sussex County Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force. On one of the distributions, he did so while within 500 feet of the Sussex County Museum. Michael R. Straube, 23, of Vernon pled guilty to the third degree crime of possession of a controlled dangerous substance. He admitted to possessing 96 bags of heroin, which he purchased in Paterson and was going to deliver to another individual. Anna C. Maloney, 42, of Hamburg pled guilty to two counts of the third degree distribution of a controlled dangerous substance. She admitted to selling small amounts of heroin on Nov. 24 and Oct. 14, 2010 in the boroughs of Hardyston and Hamburg to a person cooperating with the Sussex County Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force. Alan D. Adelman, 34, of Franklin pled guilty to two counts of third degree distribution of heroin and one count of third degree possession of heroin. He admitted to distributing heroin on July 20 and 21, 2010 in Wantage and that he possessed 19 bags of heroin when he was arrested on Oct. 1, 2010 in Franklin by members of the Sussex County Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force.
