Sussex Tech students explore career options

Sparta - Auto, diesel, welding and carpentry students at Sussex County Technical School were provided with an opportunity to explore their career options at a seminar on Tuesday, April 4, presented by Rachel Adler of Lincoln Technical Institute. Lincoln Tech has campuses in Union, Mahwah, and in Allentown, Pa., as well as in othger parts of the country. Adler linked education with earning potential and introduced the students to programs available at Lincoln Tech. Sussex Tech invites guest lecturers from colleges, trade schools and the armed forces in an effort to broaden students’ exposure to the many careers available to them. On April 20 members of the local business community will visit the school to conduct “real time” and mock interviews with Sussex Tech seniors. In preparation for their interviews, seniors will prepare portfolios for employer review. Members of the business community are encouraged to partner with Sussex Tech’s shop programs by joining the various advisory councils. Smith Electrical Contractors, S.T. Pappas Van & Bus, Sunshine Beauty Supply, Triad Engineering Corp., and United Parcel Service.
