Tech school students earn a place in National Honor Society

    SPARTA - Fourteen students from Sussex County Technical School were inducted into the National Honor Society recently at a candlelight ceremony for parents and friends held on campus. The students are Ashley Stec, a senior from Hopatcong; and juniors Samantha Sheehan, Andover; Michael Lipka, Franklin; April Behnke and Nicholas Mindos, Highland Lakes; Kristina Gorgolione, Hopatcong; Amanda Prior, William DiMarco and Amanda Zayak, Newton; Lisa Dian Rivera and Jessica O'Brien, Montague; Esteban Cabrera and Jon Trotta, Vernon; and Stephen Decker, Wantage. "We congratulate our outstanding students for this great accomplishment," said Lisa Krauss, Cooperative Education coordinator and National Honor Society advisor for Sussex Tech, "and extend a special thank you to our faculty and staff members, as well as parents and friends, who worked so diligently to make this beautiful ceremony happen." Attended by several hundred family members, friends, faculty and staff, the induction ceremony was followed by refreshments created and served by the Culinary Arts classes. Flowers were provided by the Horticulture Technology shop, and students from the Electronics Technology shop designed and operated the sound and lights.
