The Sparta Kiwanis Club installs its first woman president

Sparta - Betsy Ingersoll was installed as president of the Kiwanis Club of Sparta, as the group celebrated its 58th anniversary with an officer installation dinner at Francesca’s Restaurant. Ingersoll is the first woman president in the history of the club. The installation was conducted by Phil Meyer, lt. governor, N.J. district, division #11 of Kiwanis. Installed with Ingersoll were Vic Bertellotti, president elect; Randy Earl, vice president; John Kirkowski, secretary; Phil Giles, treasurer; and Hossein Vahabzadeh, immediate past president. New members of the board of directors are Barry Higgins, Chuck Laws, and Dan Williamson. The club is planning a “Texas hold-em” poker tournament on March 4 to raise funds to support the youth activities sponsored by the club. For information, call 973-729-5601.
