Sparta - Students at the Rev. Brown School had a special visitor recently as Thomas Edison (played by Patrick Garner) came to tell them stories of invention. Edison, who still holds the record for the most U.S. patented inventions, told students about his childhood, his favorite inventions, and how the first movies were made in N.J. with his motion picture camera. With his famous quote, “Genius is one percent inspiration and 99 percent perspiration,” he encouraged the students to embrace their own creativity and use hard work to take them to a wonderful future. This historic presentation was from Garner’s “History’s Alive” program.
