Volunteers needed to run talent shows

    Sussex County-The New Jersey State Fair Sussex County Farm and Horse Show is seeking talent to participate in its Talent Day, Saturday, Aug. 14, at the Augusta Fairgrounds. Talent Day is run under the auspices of the Sussex-Warren Arts Foundation. Volunteers are needed to run regional talent shows. Winners chosen from the local contests will compete on Talent Day. Categories are: Children's Division (through age 9), Junior Division (ages 10-15), and Adult Division (age 16 and up). Prizes will be awarded in each category, with the top prizes as follows: Adult Division $250, Junior Division $150, and Children's Division $75. Priscilla Stafford of the Arts Foundation promises a first-class performing venue with professional stage and equipment. Byram will hold its contest 6 p.m., July 30, at the Byram Civic Center, Lackawanna Drive, under the supervision of Jack Stracker. For more information on Byram's contest, call 973-347-9228. Volunteer talent show directors are still needed for Andover Borough, Branchville, Frankford, Fredon, Hamburg, Hardyston, Hopatcong, Montague, Sandyston, Stanhope, and Walpack.
