Stillwater - Fairview Lake YMCA is offering “Arts and Hearts,” a special one-week camp program, focusing on self-discovery for girls entering grades four through seven. One goal of the camp is to promote positive social relationships. Enrollment is limited to only 20 campers per week. “Campers will go home with more independence, self confidence, leadership skills, and a greater appreciation for being a girl,” said, Marc Koch, summer camp director of the Fairview Lake YMCA. “The limited enrollment enables the camp staff to give personal attention to each girl and since the program is only a week long, it’s a great opportunity for parents to introduce their daughters to sleepaway camp.” Each week, campers will be busy with creative activities such as poetry, photography, introduction to theatre, and music, along with more traditional camping activities like swimming, boating, archery, and challenging the climbing wall. Campers will also participate in workshops focusing on team building, fitness, nutrition, self-confidence and more. For information, call 973-383-9282 or log on to fairviewlakeymca.org.
