Bears go trick-or-treating, too...
To the editor: I don’t hunt and have no interest in hunting, so that is not an issue here. Last year for Halloween, we had between 25 and 35 trick-or-treat children. This year, we had only 12 children and three bears. Two of the bears were at the school bus stop nearly all afternoon into the evening and made yet another call to the Vernon Police necessary. The third bear greeted three very young girls and their four parents as they walked away from our house, down the driveway and towards the street. Governor Jon Corzine and DEP head Lisa Jackson are daring to play “bear roulette” with bear country residents and their children. They are risking considerable physical harm or possibly even death to the residents of Sussex, Warren, Passaic and Morris Counties. This they do for political reasons, only, and with no real concern for their constituents. First blood will be on Corzine’s hands and on Jackson’s, as well. Even Corzine wont be able to buy another New Jersey election after that happens. Chris Wyman Highland Lakes
