Brian Brady thanks voters

To the Editor: I want to take this opportunity to thank all the citizens of Sparta who voted on May 9. I finished second with 1,150 citizens voting for me. Due to the lack of any one candidate receiving more then 50 percent of the votes cast, a run-off election on June 13 has been scheduled. This will be the final election for the Sparta Township Council: the three candidates that receive the most votes will be elected to the council regardless of the percentage of votes received. I am asking for all of the registered voters of Sparta to vote on June 13. This is an important time for our township and you all have a say. As much as I want to serve you, I also want your voice to be heard. In April we had the school board election; last week, we had the municipal election; on June 6, we have the congressional and state primary election, and on June 13, we have the next municipal election. It seems like a lot of voting in a very short period of time. I know voter fatigue can set. In the recent municipal election we had just over 20 percent of the registered voters turn out. Regardless of who you may be voting for, I am asking you to vote, and I am making a commitment to help you if you need it. I will help to arrange a ride for you to and from your polling place if needed, or I will drop off an application for an absentee ballot at your home. I can be reached at 973-670-4773. I will also accept any invitation to speak to you or your organization about myself and the positions I have regarding issues within our local government. Thank you to all who have supported me, and thank you to all who voted. Brian Brady Sparta
