Goldberg understands Sparta
To the Editor: Manny Goldberg, candidate for town council on May 9, understands the meaning of “civic duty,” not as political jargon, but as his responsibility to the community. Manny is the respectful, intelligent, informed gentleman you see regularly at council, planning board and school board meetings. He is the volunteer at the schools reading to the children. He is the aide at the senior center. He is the man who always volunteers to help anyone in need. When asked why he devotes so much time to the town and schools, he will tell you it is because he “owes” it to the community for being blessed to have raised his family over the last 30 years in Sparta. Manny also understands the meaning of “fiscal responsibility,” again, not as political jargon but as a necessity for responsible management in the community. He has spent countless hours with me trying to better understand our town finances and processes. He uses his vast business experience looking for creative ways to maximize the use of our tax dollars and minimize hardships to residents. Manny devotes considerable time looking for real solutions to reducing the tax burden in Sparta. Manny Goldberg also understands the importance and necessity of “effective long-term planning.” He understands that priorities must be set and that the needs of the citizens must be the guiding force in setting that plan, not politics or perceived power. Manny Goldberg’s only agenda is to make Sparta the best it can be for all residents. Running for council is not about power or influence to him - it is about continuing to fulfill his duty to public service. I am humbled by his devotion to the families of Sparta and thankful for his many contributions to our community. As residents, we would be fortunate to have a person of such integrity, intelligence, and commitment representing our needs on the town council. Please visit www.mannygforsparta.com.
