Questions remain unanswered

Over the last several days, the Voices of Reason slate for the Sparta Board of Education has made some vocal claims that the Stop Raising Taxes slate is lying to the Sparta voters.

First, there was a heavily edited video circulating online, then some large billboards throughout town, and finally a Facebook post accusing the Stop Raising Taxes slate of not only lying but also of petty theft of signs.

As you prepare to vote among all the noise, you may be asking yourself: Who is lying?

I have some questions for the Voices of Reason slate:

Why are you claiming Sparta parents have no rights when Sparta parents 100 percent can choose how their child is educated within our district by opting out of materials and lessons?

Why are you trying to change a curriculum that the majority of Sparta opted into?

Why try to change a policy that was created during the Chris Christie administration to protect the rights of a vulnerable population?

Why are you allowing our legal fees to continue to rise unchecked even while cutting nurses and other staff?

Why are you taking your political fight to our school board instead of Trenton where it belongs?

Who is supporting you and funding your large billboards and ads and why?

We have not been given truthful forthright answers to these questions.

For this reason, my vote will undoubtedly go to Wood, Grana and Gagnon and the Stop Raising Taxes slate.

We need to stop this ridiculous crusade, put the money back into the actual education of our children, and restore Sparta schools before our school system and housing prices suffer.
