Majority not necessary

An interesting thing happened in Sparta on election night. By eliminating a runoff election in the case where no candidate receives a majority of the votes cast, a majority of voters decided that a majority is not necessary to win an election. Without a runoff, all the winners of such an election will know for sure is that the majority of voters wanted someone else. Robert Spence Sparta
