Reconsider the closing of Mohawk Ave. School

In am incensed to read that perhaps the Mohawk Ave. School did not need to be closed for financial reasons. I no longer have children in school, but to me the Mohawk School represented the soul of Sparta. It felt good to have our children attending school in the heart of town and a joy to see them playing various ball games in all kinds of weather. That area now seems sadly empty without them. I enjoyed hearing the buzz of children working and learning in a lovely school when I went to vote. What a difference to go there now — so empty and quiet. Let’s reconsider and reopen Mohawk Ave. school! And restart courtesy busing while we’re at it. Dody Welch Sparta
