Thank you to PWP friends at PWP
To the Editor: The holidays can be a lonely, dark time of year, as everyone struggles to make their holiday plans and buy presents for family and friends. It can be particularly difficult for those whose family circumstances have changed since last year. As a single parent, Dec. 28 marks 15 years since I joined our local chapter of Parents Without Partners. To my PWP friends, I’d like to extend heartfelt holiday wishes to all of you. To those of you who are still members, to those of you who have found “partners” and to those of you who I would have never met had it not been for this wonderful organization, I cannot tell you how much knowing you has meant to me. No matter whether your child is six months or 30 years; no matter whether you have custody or not; no matter whether you are widowed or never married - there are friends who you have not met that will make a profound difference in your life. I encourage all single parents to check out what PWP has to offer. As I help to plan this year’s New Year’s Eve Party at the VFW Hall in Morris Plains, I cannot help but think - it is so much better to be a participant in life. The steps we take are often baby steps and like me, the challenge of facing a new year could make the difference for you. Our New Year’s Eve Party is our main fundraiser for the year (we subsidize children’s activities and offer college scholarships) and the public is invited to attend. “Where New Friendships Begin” is more than just a slogan.
