Thanks for help for veterans

The Junior Woman’s Club of Sparta would like to extend our thanks to members of the community in and around Sparta who assisted in our recent collection for The Veteran’s Homes of New Jersey. The drive, which concluded on Oct. 7, collected items requested by residents of the Veteran’s Homes as part of the state-wide Junior Woman’s Club Day of Service. We also want to specifically thank Stop & Shop of Sparta, the Sparta Post Office and the Sparta Parks & Recreation Department for providing space for the collection boxes. The Veterans’ Homes in New Jersey first opened to serve the veterans from the War of 1812, and today serves the needs of veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan. The Junior Woman’s Club sends our thanks to all who helped support this worthy organization as they continue their tradition of concern and commitment to those who have served our country.
