Thanks for making Turkey Trot a success

On behalf of the Sparta Education Foundation (SEF) and the children of our public school district, I would like to thank the volunteers, sponsors and trotters who came together last week to help make the 5th Annual Krogh’s Turkey Trot a success. Over 2,500 participants turned out on a beautiful Lake Mohawk morning for our most well-attended race to date. All proceeds benefit the SEF, which is a non-profit organization run entirely by volunteers whose mission is to engage the entire community in giving that strengthens our public schools, supports our teachers, and inspires our students. Sparta is one of over 100 other communities across our state that has formed an education foundation to support its public schools. To date, our foundation has awarded grants in excess of $263,000 to our public schools. Please visit our Web site at spartaeducationfoundation.org to learn more about these grants and how you can become a part of the foundation. We are grateful to our sponsors, without whose generosity the Turkey Trot would not be possible. Please join us in thanking them with your patronage: Title Sponsor: Krogh’s Restaurant and Brew Pub. Gold Sponsor: High Point Solutions. Silver Sponsors: Casa Mia, Dykstra Engineering, Eastern Propane, Lakeland Bank, Newton Medical Center, Pine Cone Chiropractic, Realty Executives, Schoolcraft Studios. The Turkey Trot embodies Sparta at its best: families, individuals, and local businesses coming together to benefit one of our community’s most valuable resources — our public school system and the students it serves. Once again, we thank all who contributed to make the Turkey Trot another magical morning in Sparta. Kylen Anderson, President Sparta Education Foundation
