Thanks for support with Safety Village

Each year, the Junior Woman’s Club of Sparta has had the opportunity to educate Sparta’s incoming kindergarten students during our annual Safety Village. Now in it’s 22nd year, we were again given the chance to teach children the best ways to keep themselves safe. This program is staffed by our enthusiastic club members and a team of young volunteers from local schools. In addition, there are many other people throughout the community without whom Safety Village would not take place. On behalf of the Junior Woman’s Club of Sparta we would like to thank the following organizations and local businesses that helped once again to make this year’s Safety Village a success: Sponsor Hilltop Country Day School and presenters: Officer Susan Park of the Sparta Township Police Department, Tom Diveny and Jay Luba of the Sparta Township Fire Department, the Sparta Volunteer Ambulance Squad, Karen Lund of New Jersey Fish and Wildlife, Nicole Taite of The New Jersey Poison Information and Education System, Jennifer Enberg of the New Jersey Search and Rescue Team, Jason Ziegler of the Sussex Bike and Sport Shop, Wendy Folkers of the Village Bus Company, Ally and Brynn from the Sussex County YMCA, Scott Klinger of East/West Karate Academy, Vickie Beck from Catapult Learning, the Sparta Board of Education, Principal Laura Trent and the staff of Helen Morgan School. The Safety Village program is enriched by the knowledge and expertise of these volunteers. We appreciate their willingness to donate their time and talents to keep the children of our community safe.
