Thanks for the support
To the Editor: The Alzheimer’s Association would like to thank the Sussex County Board of Chosen Freeholders for their support and commitment to improving the lives of families affected by Alzheimer’s disease in Sussex County. Throughout the months of October and November, we provided dementia-specific training for family caregivers and community volunteers in collaboration with the Sussex County Division on Aging and Newton Memorial Hospital. In addition, we published a Caregiver’s Resource and Information Guide specifically detailing all the community resources available in Sussex County. The resource books are available at the Sussex County Public Libraries or by contacting the Sussex County Division of Senior Services at 973-579-0555, or the Alzheimer’s Association at 800-883-1180. Mary Lou McCutcheon and the Division of Senior Services provided tremendous assistance in fostering the interagency collaboration efforts that were necessary to raise awareness of the needs of Alzheimer’s disease individuals and their families through these important educational programs. We are very grateful to the Board of Chosen Freeholders, Mary Lou McCutcheon, Diane Friedberg and the Division of Senior Services for all their support, and we commend their commitment to Alzheimer’s disease individuals and their families in Sussex County.
