Thanks to all involved

We want to offer heartfelt thank you to all the Sussex Toastmaster’s, Phil Sweet, and the incredibly talented comedians of the Late Shift for hosting a fun filled relaxing night for our family. The house was sold out on Friday, Sept. 21 as the Lake Mohawk Country club filled up with family, friends, and generous community supporters. As reported in the Herald by Jessica Masulli, we lost our home to the excessive flooding caused by redirected runoff, inadequate town/county drainage exacerbated by Hurricane Irene, subsequent storm Lee, and then again on Sept. 28. I am proud to be a member of such a caring, community minded organization. When my fellow Toastmaster’s heard of the devastation to our home, they immediately stepped up and put together a fun night of comedy in just a months time! The proceeds and donations made to us that evening are just icing on the cake. The real prize was seeing over 120 members of our community come out to give us support emotionally as well as monetarily. We are a blessed family and we give thanks to our Lord for all those who have helped us. Thank you Mom, Uncle John, Aunt Rebekkah, Ruth and Peter for providing housing to all of us. Thank you to the countless volunteers who helped us clean out and pack up, washed laundry, provided meals, and prayers. Thank you for your unending donations of Tupperware tubs, boxes, garbage bags, gloves etc... Thank you to the incredible neighbor that rescued my wedding dress and prized baby clothes from the mud and destruction. A special thank you to Shirley Sullivan for her constant support and priceless organizational skills. These are just a few examples of the unconditional love and support we have received. Jesus is alive and well and living in Sussex County! We are making plans to restore our property and pray that the Lord will continue to bless us as we walk the long road ahead. God Bless!
