Unhappy with Stop and Shop

To the Editor: I did not find the comments by Dave Troast “atrocious.” Yes, Stop and Shop pays taxes to our township, but they also offer a public service, one that at best they are doing poorly at. Perhaps you could use the description “atrocious” to describe the fresh fruits and vegetables that they offer for sale or the fact that on numerous occasions their dairy aisle is stocked with items long past their expiration date. The general consensus is that Stop and Shop is a terrible supermarket but, unfortunately, our only supermarket. Perhaps Stop and Shop should operate their store as if they weren’t the only game in town. Janet Berardi Sparta
