Vote of confidence
To the editor: On behalf of the board of education I would like to thank the voters of Vernon Township for their vote of confidence this past week in passing our referendum by a margin of two to one. The success of this referendum will make improvements to our district that are urgently needed, at a very affordable cost, and that will maintain/improve property values for all our town’s residents. We will begin work immediately by meeting with the architect and plan to have a great deal of the work completed by the end of next summer. It is not too early for the board of education to begin thinking about next year’s operational budget and I urge all those voters who came to the polls to continue to maintain their interest in our schools for the benefit of our children and their education. We welcome your attendance at our board of education meetings and would appreciate your input. Howard J. Whidden, Jr. Vernon Board of Education President
