— Throughout five weeks in August and September 2017, RoNetco ShopRite stores participated in the Annual ShopRite Partners in Caring Program. As a result of their outstanding efforts in fundraising events and overall commitment to the hunger-fighting initiative of being Partners in Caring for our neighbors’ families, homes and communities, associates from three RoNetco ShopRite stores are currently featured on a just-released, special-edition Cheerios box.
The top 40 ShopRite stores in the northeast are featured on this special-edition Cheerios box, with the theme of The Power of One: One Team, One Passion, One Purpose. RoNetco ShopRite stores pride themselves in regularly earning a spot on the Cheerios box as a result of the hard work and dedication of their associates, and the generosity of the customers in the communities they serve. Special “unveiling” ceremonies took place this March to honor these team members.
“We at RoNetco are privileged and pleased to be able to support such a great cause. It doesn’t happen without the efforts of General Mills, Wakefern, our store management teams, our captains, our associates, and our very generous and caring customers. My sincere thanks to our store teams for representing RoNetco in the community in such a positive way,” said Terry Jerauld, Director of Store Operations.
RoNetco Supermarkets, with stores in Morris, Sussex and Warren counties, is committed to fighting hunger in the communities where their stores are located. The seven RoNetco ShopRites alone raised in excess of $120,000 in 2017, bringing the total for all ShopRites over the last 19 years to more than $44 million dollars to aid the local food pantries in our communities.
The store managers in Newton and Byram also had kind words to share:
“Thanks to our captains for their drive and leadership. We are so proud in Newton and know that every dollar we raised mattered, whether it was from selling ice cream sundaes, cooking at weekend BBQs, or our cashiers asking to round up for change, we couldn’t do it without the engagement and excitement of our associates explaining where all of the donations go,” John DeCarlo, Newton Store Manager.
“Thank you for your hard work and commitment and for making a difference for those in our community. We had a fantastic team who poured their heart and soul into this project and our total and their passion really shows,” Dan Dobrzynski, Byram Store Manager.
On top of the ShopRite stores’ contributions, RoNetco Supermarkets, Inc. donated another $25,000 to the NORWESCAP Food Bank at the unveiling events. The food bank distributes over 2,000,000 pounds of food annually to pantries, shelters, soup kitchens, on-site feeding programs, childcare centers, senior centers, and programs for the disabled in Hunterdon, Sussex & Warren counties.
“Thank you for all of your support over the years. It means so much to the 180 agencies and families we serve. We could not do what we do without the support of ShopRite and Partners in Caring,” said Shannon Williams, Assistant Director of the NORWESCAP Food Bank.
