Former political rivals reunite to honor Michael LaRose
Sparta. Former Assemblyman Dick Kamin and Assemblyman Michael Inganamort recognized former Sparta Mayor Michael LaRose for his years of service to the community.

Former political rivals Dick Kamin and Michael LaRose reunited July 7 to recognize LaRose for his years of service to the community.
Kamin, a Republican, and LaRose, a Democrat, faced each other in the 1991 race for the New Jersey State Assembly in the 24th District. Despite their political differences, the two and their families developed a close friendship.
During the ceremony, Kamin joined Assemblyman Michael Inganamort in honoring LaRose, who served as mayor of Sparta Township and later as a Sussex County freeholder.
As mayor, LaRose was instrumental in the creation of Station Park. During his time as a county freeholder, he helped establish the Sussex County Office of Emergency Management.
