Troop 1150 members earn Expedition Merit badges on Pochuck Boardwalk hike
Sparta. Two members of Troop 1150 earned Expedition Merit badges after hiking the Pochuck Boardwalk section of the Appalachian Trail and learning about local plants and animal habitats.

Kaylee Kelso and Barbara Hackett, members of Troop 1150, earned their Expedition Merit badges by hiking the Pochuck Boardwalk, a section of the Appalachian Trail.
During the hike, the Scouts learned about local animal habitats as well as native plants and their healing properties.
The Pochuck Boardwalk is a well-known section of the Appalachian Trail that crosses wetlands and offers hikers access to a variety of wildlife and plant life.
