Meara sets Veritas school strikeout record in shutout win
Sparta. Senior Bobby Meara struck out a school-record 17 batters and added three hits with four RBIs as Veritas Christian Academy rolled past Warren County Tech 13-0 in its season opener.

The Veritas Christian Academy baseball team opened its 2026 season Wednesday with a 13-0 victory over Warren County Technical School, powered by a record-setting performance from senior pitcher Bobby Meara.
Meara pitched a complete-game one-hitter, striking out 17 batters to set a new school record. He controlled the game throughout, consistently throwing strikes and keeping Warren County Tech’s lineup off balance.
Veritas also played error-free defense behind Meara, helping preserve the shutout in the season opener.
At the plate, the Lions collected 15 hits. Meara led the offense with three hits and four RBIs, while freshmen Lincoln Van Der Ploog and Owen Marine combined for seven hits and four RBIs.
