Sparta VFW to host 10th annual clambake
Sparta. The Sparta VFW will host its 10th annual clambake Sept. 12, with proceeds benefiting the VFW National Home for Children and the Sparta VFW Ralph Rojas Scholarship Fund.
Sparta VFW Post 7248 will host its 10th annual clambake from 2 to 6 p.m. Sept. 12 at the post, 66 Main St.
The family-friendly event will feature live music by The Treblemakers and door prizes. The menu will include all-you-can-eat steamed clams, a raw bar, sausage and peppers, burgers, hot dogs, french fries, corn, salad and desserts. Soda, water and draft beer will be included.
“This is a fantastic, family-friendly event raising funds for two great causes: the VFW National Home for Children and the Sparta VFW Ralph Rojas Scholarship Fund,” Sparta VFW Commander Peter Litchfield said.
Tickets are $80, with a discounted price of $70 for active-duty military members, veterans, Department of Defense personnel and first responders. Children younger than 12 are admitted free with a parent.
Tickets are limited, and advance purchase is recommended. Tickets can be purchased through the Sparta VFW’s Facebook page, at the post or through the QR code on the event flyer.

The William B. Sanford Memorial VFW Post 7248 was formed more than 60 years ago by Sparta World War II veterans and continues to operate at 66 Main St.
